The exercises of Qi Gong have been used for over 2,000 years, making it easily the world’s oldest continually practiced and documented exercise system. The exercises, postures, and principles of Qi Gong form the core of most systems of different types of qigong, taiji (tai chi), gong-fu (kung-fu) and Taoist Yoga. This ancient Chinese method of exercise, combines static and flowing movements to either reinvigorate the body or calm the body. Learning the fundamentals of Qi Gong will completely transform the way you approach any form of practice.

In my classes I use simple forms, flows and postures to focus on Qi circulation through finding the balance between stretched and relaxed. Through this technique the intrinsic strength of the body will be harnessed for improving mental clarity, longevity and life potency.

Qi Gong is the Mandarin Chinese term used to describe various Chinese systems of physical and mental training for health. It’s an ancient Chinese health care system that integrates physical postures, breathing techniques and focused intention. The word Qigong (Chi Kung) is made up of two Chinese words. Qi is pronounced chee and is usually translated to mean the life force or vital-energy that flows through all things in the universe. The second word, Gong, pronounced gung, means accomplishment, or skill that is cultivated through steady practice. Together, Qigong (Chi Kung) means cultivating energy, it is a system practiced for health maintenance, healing and increasing vitality.

Qi Gong is the fitness aspect of Chinese Medicine. If you have a hard time meditating while sitting, this is the class for you. A Moving Meditation class. This is a fitness class, but Qi Gong is truly an underlying medical system.
